Parent Coaching:

My years of working with children with executive functioning challenges, combined with my experience as a teacher and parent, help me to understand your unique story and prioritize key areas. In-person or phone coaching provides you with a plan and practical strategies.

This can include:
*Systems (for you and/or your child) to put in place at home
*Skills to hone with your child
*Tools to help your child with academic or organizational challenges
*Ideas for partnering with your child’s school and teachers
*Positive ways to foster student accountability, including ways you can step in and step out with your involvement
*General strategies for successfully “coaching” your child directly

We start with a few manageable action items, often making a big difference in your child’s success and autonomy. The goal is to scaffold executive functioning skills and work towards independence. Parent coaching is fully customized to your family’s needs.

When applicable, this process can conclude with a virtual or in-person session with me, a parent, and the student. I can serve as an outside person “rolling out” interventions and accountability measures. This can be a good option when the student/caregiver relationship would benefit from an outside party helping facilitate setting new goals and routines. (This is common when everyone is frustrated!)
