Executive Functioning
Skills Group:
A 6-Session Crash Course
*Coming soon*
Students will meet with Karen and a small group of 4-6 students weekly for six weeks. They will learn executive functioning skills, their importance, and how they contribute to success and well-being. Each week focuses on one skill, with students sharing* current strategies and refining them through discussion and activities. Sessions include emotional regulation practice and simple ‘homework,’ which parents help reinforce. At the conclusion, students will be more independent, confident, and empowered to use these skills.
The skills group includes a 30-minute parent call before student meetings, where Karen previews the content and suggests ways for parents to collaborate at home. After the course, Karen offers 30-minute calls with each family to share student observations and provide specific suggestions.
Executive functioning groups focus on middle school, high school, or the college application process.
*Guidelines are set during the first meeting that students should not pass on anything personal that any member shares.
